Anxiety

Feeling Anxious?

Anxiety is something every human experiences. It’s not a flaw or a failure—it’s actually part of your body’s built-in protection system. At its core, anxiety is your nervous system doing its job: scanning for potential danger and preparing you to respond.

When your brain perceives a threat (whether it’s a real, immediate danger or something more abstract like uncertainty, pressure, or fear of the unknown), it activates your fight-or-flight response. This is a physiological process—your heart rate increases, your breathing quickens, muscles tense, and stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline are released. Your body is essentially preparing you to act.

This system is incredibly helpful when you truly need it.

But sometimes, especially in today’s fast-paced and high-demand world, that alarm system can become overactive or stuck in the “on” position. When that happens, anxiety can begin to feel constant, intense, and exhausting.

You might notice:

  • Your mind racing or feeling like you can’t “turn it off”

  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep

  • Feeling on edge, restless, or easily overwhelmed

  • Irritability or a shorter fuse than usual

  • Physical symptoms like a tight chest, shallow breathing, or a pounding heart

  • Panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere

  • Avoiding situations that feel too overwhelming

Over time, anxiety can start to shape your life in ways that feel limiting. You may find yourself saying “no” more often—not because you want to, but because it feels safer. Your world can begin to shrink as anxiety quietly takes up more space.

If this resonates, you are not alone—and nothing about this means you’re broken.

It means your nervous system is working hard to protect you, even if it’s doing so in a way that no longer feels helpful.

The good news is that your nervous system is also trainable and adaptable. With the right support and tools, you can learn how to regulate it, understand your triggers, and respond to anxiety in a way that feels empowering rather than overwhelming.

Together, we can work on:

  • Understanding what’s happening in your body and why

  • Building skills to calm and regulate your nervous system

  • Gently reducing avoidance so your life can open back up

  • Helping you feel more grounded, present, and in control

My goal is to help you move from a life that feels restricted by anxiety to one that feels expanded, steady, and truly yours again.

You don’t have to live in a constant state of activation. There is another way—and I’d be honored to help you find it.
